Abstract :
This paper describes the functionality and development of a power application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) called ENERCHIP, designed to perform power control tasks throughout the Spanish power distribution network. This chip, however, can be used in other control systems, as it contains generic analog and digital functions, appropriate for any application, as well as a CPU core. The ASIC has been fabricated using a 1.2 μm CMOS technology with double metal and double polysilicon
