Abstract :
Wire-line multi-carrier modulation (MCM) systems are subject to the slowly time varying transfer function of their transmission channel. In addition they may be affected by narrow-band interference (NBI) which is likely to occur abruptly and degrades transmission performance severely. As the spectral selectivity of discrete Fourier transformation (DFT) is low, a wide range of carriers are affected as well as the carriers that are immediately adjacent to the frequency of disturbance. However, the influences of disturbance on different carriers are correlated and can be reduced as they arise from the DFT. We have shown an approach to compensate the broadband impact of an NBI. In addition we also propose several methods to detect and classify an interference.
