Abstract :
The fielded Commanders´ Tactical Terminal (CTT) provides the warfighter with seamless, near-real-time tactical intelligence and targeting information. It is the golden thread for the US Army´s Integrated Battlefield Targeting Architecture and acts as a vital link in its modernization objectives. The terminal supplies the critical data link to battle managers, intelligence centers, air defense, fire support and aviation nodes across all service lines. The CTT terminal family includes the one-channel receive-only Versatile Intelligence Portable Receiver (VIPR); the one-channel, full-duplex CTT(1); the one-channel, full-duplex TIU/G; the two-channel, receive-only (CTT/H-R) CTT(2); and the three-channel, full-duplex (CTT/H3) and receive-only (CTT/H-R3) CTT(3) terminals. The CTT(3) allows the user to exploit all modes and rates of near-real-time UHF intelligence broadcast networks such as: TRIXS, TIBS, TDDS/TADIXS-B and GPL. The VME open architecture of the CTT(3) terminal supports product improvements such as demand assigned multiple access (DAMA) and high speed fleet broadcast (HSFB) operation in the future. The CTT(3) operates full-duplex in the TRIXS, TIBS or GPL networks while simultaneously receiving two additional channels of intelligence broadcasts. These communications systems permit data to be sent directly to users without any intermediate recipients, time delays, or data filtering. These dedicated communications links to the users provide timely intelligence for target acquisition, mission planning, threat avoidance, and battle management
