Abstract
This paper describes a method to improve the simulated inductor proposed by Qiu (1991) by means of PSPICE simulation. The total number of transistors of the improved simulated inductor has been reduced by 20%, and the inductance is changed to be inversely proportional to u2c. It is temporally made up of discrete elements so as to investigate its performance experimentally before its realization as a monolithic IC. The experiment verifies that an oscillator or filter composed of such an inductor has a linear voltage-controlled characteristic and wider operating frequency range with lowest frequency down to 0.01 Hz owing to the huge inductance up to 250000 H and high Q value of the simulated inductor even in ultra-low frequency bands
