Abstract :
The role of decentralized (local) heat or power supply increases in modern conditions. It is realized by the implementation of power installations of low capacity, located in immediate proximity from consumers. Heavy users of heat and electrical power - manufacturing firms, trading complexes, cooperating houses - which are situated in districts with well-developed centralized power supply are involved in large numbers into the process of building their own generating supplies on basis of hydro turbine installations, diesel generators, gas piston machines. A combination of a centralized and decentralized power supply creates new technical and economic prerequisites for development of local energy.
