Abstract
The problem of estimating the location of remote, closely spaced sources radiating wideband Gaussian signals is addressed. A novel lower bound on the mean square errors attainable by linearly combining narrowband estimates is derived, and the results are compared with the Cramer-Rao bound for the broadband signal. The bound suggests an incoherent combination of narrow band estimates which comes close to reaching the wideband Cramer-Rao bound
