Abstract
This paper proposes and investigates a new adaptive approach to spatiotemporal equalization for MIMO (multiinput multioutput) frequency-selective channels. We consider an adaptive Laguerre matrix equalizer which applies an optimal method to select the pole and a fast RLS algorithm. The proposed solution is tested by simulating the MIMO system and compared with the conventional equalization schemes. The simulation results show that the adaptive Laguerre equalization achieves much better performance over the adaptive linear equalization scheme and better stability than the decision-feedback equalization solution.
