Abstract :
The aim of this study is to develop a system for extracting information during postural stability tests, using a new capacitive force sensor conceived and made by us. Based on the capacitive force sensor, we developed a pedometric force plate (PFP) for use in human postural and gait analysis. We present the method of data acquisition, the signal processing and the results obtained. For determining a relationship between the force signal parameters (spectrum, COP (Center of Pressure) trajectories) and subjects´ postural behavior, six healthy persons were tested. The Fourier spectra were determined for every force sensor and for the COP. Also, the gait line was determined for three subjects who achieved a short walk before the postural test.
