Abstract :
Calculation procedures for the intensities of electric and magnetic fields in the corridors of overhead high-voltage power lines (HV PLs) and for the currents induced by these fields in human body are considered. Measures to minimize the intensity of these fields, based on various arrangements of wires on transmission towers, are outlined. Several models for the action of electromagnetic fields on human organism are examined, including fields of fixed intensity with different orientations of the magnetic-field vector with respect to human body, and also the action of the electromagnetic field on a human during hot-line repair works.
