Abstract :
The financial services industry is a major user of private line automatic ring-down circuits for voice communications. These circuits provide little flexibility in a rapidly changing service environment. A central office switch-based alternative to automatic ring-down circuits used for trading operations is described. This service provides end-user transparency to the current environment and advanced network management features not currently available with private lines. These include end-user administration of station features, rapid reconfiguration, real-time message detail records, diagnostic capabilities, and disaster recovery features for both the network and customer premises equipment
