Abstract :
Maintenance is developing into a more and more complex structured working area, dealing with different maintenance strategies and using e-technologies to increase maintenance efficiency and to optimize maintenance related workflow. The following article describes the possibilities of business process integration based on an e-maintenance platform developed within the PROTEUS research project. After introducing the topic, e-maintenance and defining the basic terms, different aspects and procedures of process integration are described. The article continues with the explanation of potentials as a consequence of a successful business process integration and finally shows the necessary prerequisites for such a project
