Abstract :
The objectives of the USAF System Support Concept are discussed, and specific implementation measures are proposed. The goal of this initiative is to reduce, if not eliminate, the need for interim contractor support and to develop and implement acquisition strategies structured to deliver systems and their support as an integrated capability. The suggestions address better ways to perform existing processes or recommend some radical departure from customary practices. Many of the recommendations described are equally applicable to existing and new acquisition programs. To formulate and implement this concept properly requires a concerted and cooperative effort on the part of government and industry
