Abstract
In CDMA systems, the RAKE finger outputs are correlated by the pulse shaping filters when the multipath channel delays are not multiples of the chip duration. This paper presents an equivalent tapped delay line channel that eliminates this correlation and reduces simulation complexity. The RAKE output processes of the two channels are proven to be equal. The equivalent channel paths are statically independent and their number can often be reduced with no performance loss.
