Abstract :
A laser-welding technique for precisely locking the XYZ alignment of the fiber in a laser package is described. Laser welding the fiber with 0.5-μm precision has been achieved with a high yield. The laser-welded joints´ mechanical stability is satisfactory. Piece part geometries, the sequence of tasks needed to secure the fiber within the laser package, and the long-term stability of the welded joints are considered
