Abstract :
Computer vision techniques have been used extensively for 3D object recognition in many industrial applications such as robotics or automatic inspection. Very few attempts have explored the possibility of applying these techniques to 3D creative design. This paper discusses how requirements for creative design differ from those for other applications. Relevant computer vision techniques are identified, and a system which is suitable for creative design is proposed
