Abstract :
A new wide-band single-Pi equivalent circuit model for on-chip spiral inductors is presented. The new model consists of frequency-independent lumped components to accurately keep the characteristic behaviour of inductors with and without patterned ground shield. The RLC circuit elements are derived directly from S-parameters by automatic fitting procedures. Two different fitting procedures are proposed which offer different levels of accuracy according to the design requirements.
