Abstract :
The OSI (open system interconnection) network manager is described, including its functions and major processes. The OSI network manager implements network management functions, as defined by ISO, to manage the full set of network communications-specific resources in end systems and intermediate systems. It provides multiple management functions in a single, central system and implements ISO´s common management information system and common management information protocol. It currently manages two OSI profiles: TOP and MAP, and is readily expandable to other OSI and non-OSI profiles. To give a feeling for how the OSI network manager works, an example of an OSI network manager display is given. A summary of the future plans for the OSI network manager is given
