Abstract :
We present the application of the high speed analog neural network chip of the MESA Research Institute in the first level RZ-trigger of the H1-Experiment at HERA, where 820 GeV protons collide with 27.6 GeV positrons. Using this neural network chip with a settling time below 50 ns we can reach a trigger decision within the HERA bunch-crossing time of 96 ns. The trigger decision is built to recognize background using the shape of a 96-bin-vertex-histogram representing the origin of charged particles coming from the interaction region
