Abstract
Paper industries require several drives for paper processing. Electronic synchronization has to he ensured for quality of produced paper rolls. Several control strategies have been suggested based on robust control or electronic emulation of mechanical line shaft. An experimental set-up has been designed in order to study various configurations of paper winding systems. The system is composed of two paper rollers and a tensioning roller. A control structure is suggested for this experimental set-up. This control is deduced from an energetic macroscopic representation of the system. Neither robust control strategy nor mechanical emulation is required, but this control needs a large number of controllers.
