Abstract :
This paper presents a PWM control algorithm for direct three-phase matrix converter (3PMC). This algorithm uses a PWM strategy which assures the first harmonic target of the output voltage and safety of switches. The novelty in this paper is that usually users consider in simulation ideal switches, while here we consider the commutation problem and we apply a "semi-natural two steps commutation strategy" to the converter. Simulation is made in the "Matlab"/"Simulink" environments in which we use real characteristics of IGBT particularly the turn on and turn off switching times.
