Abstract :
Content-centric networking is a new communication paradigm conceived for Future Internet architectures. It supports content search and delivery without any reference to the location where data can be retrieved from. It also exploits in-network caching to provide fast delivery and distribute the network load. This communication model is promising for mobile wireless networks with intermittent connectivity, like MANETs. In this paper, we present CHANET, a content-centric MANET that is built on a connectionless layer designed on top of legacy IEEE 802.11 protocols to provide content-based routing and transport functionality without relying on the TCP/IP protocol suite.
