Abstract :
This paper describes a realistic interactive method for modeling leaves which incorporates a number of interesting techniques. Using a 2D leaf image as input, this method first extracts a set of feature points by image processing and manual interaction. Second, we use these feature points to generate the leaf shape by double silhouette-axis skeleton method. Finally, Laplacian surface editing is applied for deformation to produce a real leaf model. Our approach is simple and flexible, and we believe it can be a general method be widely used for modeling various leaves.
