Abstract
The developing countries like India found themselves in highly competitive global business environment. Though on a limited basis, literature finds some JIT implementation in the India. This paper reviews the JIT literature from India to identify the JIT practices and implementation issues. The survey results of these practices are also presented. The Indian and Japanese manufacturing philosophies are compared and the factors responsible for slow implementation in India are highlighted
