Abstract :
In many situations of practical interest (such as time-of-arrival estimation, structured blind identification/equalization, etc.) the knowledge of the pulse shape filter is of utmost importance. Many field experiments have reported that assuming a "normalised" pulse shape (e.g. a truncated raised cosine with a given roll-off) is most often very unreliable. Several approaches for pulse shape filter estimation (assuming different models for the propagation channel) are presented and assessed on real field experiments.
