Abstract :
Stock Control and Distribution (SC&D) is US Air Force Logistics Command modernization program designed to process base-level requests in seconds and minutes versus days and hours. The benefits of SC&D include reduced pipeline times and increased readiness of aircraft to the Air Force inventory. The discussion covers: the implementation of one of the first SC&D subsystems at all five air logistics centers, which has already provided benefits; the other subsystems; SC&D benefits; the design of SC&D as an integrated database, which is the key to realizing its benefits; the enterprise model used to analyze activities and entities; conceptual and logical database design and implementing and tuning the physical database
