Abstract
Government and industry have been placing increasing emphasis on producing an improved weapon-system diagnostic capability. The author discusses integrated diagnostics, explaining what it is, why it is important to both government and industry, what it takes to make it work, and what is available to help implement the process. Consideration is given to establishing diagnostic requirements, diagnostic specifications, the diagnostic design process, the demonstration and evaluation of the diagnostic capability, and the automation of the diagnostic design process
