Abstract :
Compares the performance of two inversion algorithms for extracting directional ocean wave information from HF radar backscatter. The methods are applied to simulated data and to an experimental data set with sea-truth being provided by a directional wave buoy. The robustness of each algorithm is discussed. The effects of data quality are observed and some quality criteria are discussed
