  • Abstract
    Taking two representative historical blocks in Changsha city, Hunan province, i.e. Taipingjie block and Pozijie block as object, the form of program as background, combined with the current situation of the historical block, this paper investigated and analyzed selection manners and application of cultural landscape elements. Comparative analysis showed that two different modes of preservation and renewal were respectively adopted in Taipingjie block and Pozijie block due to their regional features and their differences in the history development. In Pozijie block land was fully transferred, commercial developmental mode was adopted, and catering industry was developed, which results in a commercial street with folk culture and catering Culture. In contrast, the restore mode of repairing old as old was adopted in Taipingjie block that adhered to certain basic principle of history, authenticity and integrity. And managing mode of mandatory was adopted to preserve the spatial framework of the historical block. Furthermore, we explored the problems such as the renewal mode of the two blocks and the transformation of management mode and the conflict between new and old cultures that appear under being rocked by the modern commerce.
