Abstract
CSRL is a tool for building expert systems for the generic task of classification. It provides programming constructs to organize knowledge and to encode control strategies for the expert system to perform its classification problem solving. During the design phase, CSRL provides the framework for the designers to focus on the application and formalize the classification aspect. The programming phase is almost trivial, given the language constructs of CSRL. If the application for which an expert system is being designed is largely a classification task, then CSRL is an ideal tool. CSRL´s language constructs are described, and its advantages are discussed. Several industrial applications of CSRL are described
