Abstract :
Discusses the development of HCJB World Radio, the world´s first missionary radio station, from its beginnings in Ecuador in 1931 up to the present day. The station has mushroomed over the last 64 years and has developed into an organisation today with listeners from 140 countries around the world. In 1933 the fledgling station was airing programmes for four hours daily in Spanish and English. Today, 30 antennas and 1200 kW of R.F. power are broadcasting 546 hours of weekly programming in 17 languages
