Abstract
This paper examines the use of games for learning algebra. It reflects on the experiences gained from a mobile learning game-based study for learning algebra, results from a survey on game use conducted with students in Trinidad and Tobago and recommendations by other researchers in the field. It presents a set of principles which emerged from these experiences for creating successful learning games for algebra.
