Abstract
This paper presents investigative study on the life transitions, problems faced by a woman as she chooses engineering as career, and thus the preferences, priorities, expectations and apprehensions. Around 200 women comprising of student community, faculties, and working professionals were surveyed and the responses are recorded herein. Lots of positives have resulted as self satisfaction is what drives the women engineers while money being not a major concern. Social discrimination is still found to be a main issue. Requirement for upliftment and consideration of women engineers as part of mainstream workforce for the development, setting aside the gender bias is proposed.
