Abstract :
A novel broadband single-layer aperture coupled patch antenna is proposed. A simple patch geometry that is based on a rectangular patch with two symmetry arms fed by aperture coupled is introduced in this paper. A new resonant mode is excited using this novel patch structure. The results shows that the bandwidth is 4.1 to 6.3 GHz (S11<;-10dB), larger than 40%. The gain is achieved to 6.6dBi. The radiation patterns are similar and the gain can meet the demand for the communication applications over the operating frequency band.
