Abstract :
The following topics were dealt with: distributed interactive and real-time simulations; architectural and language supports (high-level architecture for simulation, DEVS formalism as a framework for advanced distributed simulation, and simulation of fine-grained parallel algorithms with the Animating Language Tools system); synchronization and real-time issues (event synchronization in multi-user virtual reality environments, feedback control in time warp synchronized parallel simulators, and COVERS 3.0-an object-oriented environment for modeling, simulation and analysis of real-time concurrent systems); distributed interactive simulation vs. parallel simulation; and miscellaneous (design and simulations of cellular neural-like associative memory, and design of high-speed parallel arithmetic algorithms and architectures)
