Abstract
The decision made in the selection of a construction project transaction method for a project is one of the key factors determining the success of a project. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been widely used to select transaction method for project procurement, but this has occurred mainly in crisp (non-fuzzy) decision applications. Furthermore, it is also recognized that human assessment on qualitative attributes is always subjective and imprecise. To make up for the deficiency in the AHP. a fuzzy AHP with an extent analysis approach is proposed for the selection construction project transaction method. The new approach can improve the imprecise ranking of selection construction project transaction method inherited from studies based on the conventional AHP. At last, a case analysis shows that the model and its solution is not only effective, but also feasible.
