Abstract :
This paper discusses real-time performance of a computer-controlled variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF) power generating system that employs a dual-excited synchronous generator (DESG). Results from a proposed model of an unloaded DESG are qualitatively compared with real-time test results. Emphasis is given to the attributes of the control of the excitation of the DESG in the regulation of both the frequency and magnitude of the generated voltage when the DESG is operating at variable-speed
