Abstract :
Managing new projects in a traditional, well-established commercial environment is fraught with difficulties. Very different issues exist with developing in dynamic and immature units that are in the business of pushing new technologies into the market place. This paper draws on Cap Gemini´s experience of managing a variety of projects to explore the differences between the two environments and considers the most appropriate management techniques for the development of innovative new solutions. It demonstrates an approach for retaining high productivity, innovation, creativity and a sense of fun whilst the technique delivers a sense of calmness, control and purpose to the stakeholders
