Title :
Group support for an international agency network
Author_Institution :
Commonwealth Secretariat, London, UK
Abstract :
The paper describes the use of a distributed group communication system to support consultation and collaboration among a group of people in a network of international agencies, who cannot meet face to face. Following a description of the network and the technology, insights are presented into the type of group support required for consultation and collaboration, drawing upon the literature on inter-organisational networks. It concludes by presenting processes of appropriation and adaptation which may be considered when providing group support for a network way of working
