Abstract :
In this paper, an SNR estimator is proposed for a HipeLAN/2 OFDM transceiver. The estimator uses the error vector magnitude (EVM) algorithm, operates in AWGN channel and uses QPSK modulated OFDM data. The SNR estimation accuracy is accomplished from 2 dB. Furthermore the connection among the SNR estimation accuracy and the channel estimation method used is examined. From this relation the way of embodying EVM in a practical system is addressed.
