Abstract :
In this paper we propose the way to improve broadband characteristics of Marchand balun using vertical solenoid coupled transmission lines with a high coupling coefficient k = 0.6. Balun shows the maximum amplitude imbalance of 0.7 dB and the maximum phase imbalance of 6deg in the 0.7 - 3.5 GHz frequency band. Balun has been designed using low temperature cofired ceramic technology (DuPont system 951)
