The microwave community lost an outstanding contributor, a distinguished educator, and a dedicated volunteer when Dr. Kuldip Chandra Gupta, a past president of IEEE Microwave Theory & Techniques Society, passed away on February 7, 2007, in Mumbai, India, at the age of 66. Dr. Gupta, known informally by his initials "KC" in the profession and among his colleagues, had arrived in Mumbai only weeks earlier to serve as a visiting professor for a semester at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, where he suffered a heart attack. He is survived by his wife Usha, son Sandeep, daughters Parul and Anjula, and two grandchildren, and most recently was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona. A brief biography is provided.
