Abstract :
In this paper, an approach in sound rendering in a 3D graphics environment is presented. Each object in a 3D world is associated with a sound file and sound parameters. Sound processing is done on the fly during the animation to produce sound signals. This feature removes the requirement of dubbing after the animation has been created. In sound generation, a novel method was investigated to generate sounds from existing sound samples. The study investigated the characteristics of sounds in a collision, by changing the event parameters. The results were tested for their quality on a number of volunteers. Conclusions are drawn and proposals for future directions are made
