Abstract :
This paper presents the results and conclusions of a study upon the performance developed by a hybrid synchronous machine. Both generating and motoring duties are taken into consideration in order to establish the actual capabilities for one or the other regime. The aim is an evaluation upon the aptness of using this machine for specific applications and mainly in variable-speed electric drives within large limits.
