Abstract :
The equivalent axle-number coefficient for asphalt pavement with rigid base was investigated in this paper. Based on the elastic-layer system theory and fatigue tensile-stress principles, the relationship between axle-number coefficient for asphalt pavement with rigid base and tensile stress under rigid base was obtained. The influences on the axle-number coefficient by different structural parameters such as thickness and modulus of different pavement layers were analyzed by finite element program. And then the calculation formula for axle-number coefficient of asphalt pavement with rigid base was suggested and compared with the axle-number coefficient suggested by AASHTO. It is indicated that the calculation formula for axle-number coefficient suggested in this paper is reasonable.
