Abstract :
Medical image fusion is the important step after the registration, which is an integrative display method of two images, to make up for lacks of the anatomic and functional image respectively. Based on the original image fusion methods and principle components analysis (PCA) theory, this paper presents a new block enhanced algorithm for medical image fusion considering the imbalance of images. We have experimented on PET/CT data with the algorithm, the results indicate that the proposed method is better than the original fusion ones as higher contrasts and clearer outlines.
