Abstract
In this paper, we present an original method for analyzing planar discontinuities. The robustness of the method is that combines a multimodal analysis with a variational convergent technique of Galerkin. Associated to the concept of operator formalism it offers a useful tool for solving complex electromagnetic problems. Compared to other published multimodal analysis it presents the advantage of characterizing directly a cell of cascaded asymmetric discontinuities, whereas the introduced matrix are relatively reduced
