Abstract :
The CDS (connected dominating set) has been widely used in the topology control of wireless sensor networks. When topology changed due to the node failure or low power, most previous proposals recomputed the structure again as their initialization. This leads to an expensive energy cost which is also unnecessary. In this paper, we propose a localized MESH-CDS algorithm which maintains the structure in a localized manner and ensure its consistency of topology properties. Simulation results show that it has higher energy efficiency than protocols based on tree structure.
