Abstract
This paper presents an alternative method to calculate the electromagnetic torque characteristic of a SRM. Up to now, it is familiar in modeling the SRM to use the lookup tables´ technique to get the static torque. This method isn´t well integrated with modeling and control design procedures because these procedures have the attending to deal the problem analytically. The macromodeling approach solves this problem and insures both the high accuracy (related to the FEM-analysis of SRM) and the acceptable flexibility in the dynamic modeling and the design of the required control.
