Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a novel technique for multipath delay estimation in GPS receivers. The proposed technique is based on a nonlinear quadratic operator called the Teager-Kaiser operator. By applying directly the Teager-Kaiser operator to those correlation functions, we can easily estimate accurately the different multipath delays introduced by the channel. We examine closely the properties of this nonlinear operator when applied to different reference correlation functions, and we provide some simulations to confirm the high efficiency and simple implementation of this new technique
