  • Abstract
People over the world are becoming more mobile as a result of both the development of modern transportation systems such as intelligent transportation systems (ITS) that provides the safety and convenience for travelling, and the advance of wireless communication systems that enables people to conduct business and daily life on the move. On the other hand, the increase in mobility imposes more demands on the physical transportation infrastructure, creating more problems for the people on the move. New technologies are necessary to satisfy demands and resolve these problems. This paper proposes a novel method that makes use of location technologies which exist in the wireless communication systems to enhance any ITS. This approach provides a cost effective way to implement ITS.
